Site Updates

March 12 Update: Rise Of The Mentards & Flower Boy was published in juked print #5. You should buy this book. They did some editing on it. They wanted a different ending maybe and I wrote one for them but they didn’t use it. Also they clipped off some of the original ending. That’s okay. Some parts of the story are good. Some parts are sketchy. You should buy this book no matter what.

November 5 Update: Destroy All Robots has been published in Zygote Print #4 and The Martians Are Coming has been published at Shrug Magazine.

September 15 Update: A useless demo which will work in Firefox and Opera but not Internet Explorer. The html, body, and head tag elements are treated as blocks and absolutely or relatively positioned on the page. Funny but useless. Another set of demos are equally useless in Internet Explorer and Opera, but do well in Firefox and (maybe) Safari. When will we have CSS 3? These demos are composed of stacked divs given a different z-index on :hover, :focus(2) and :target.

August 24 Update: An excerpt from The Ultraphone has been published over at Zygote. You can find it here. I've uploaded two new CSS demos based on the W3C Confetti Menu. The first version uses Outlines on hover and looks best in Firefox. The second version uses Borders because Opera has this depressing problem with outlines on :hover.

July 7 Update: More Ultraphone work. Decided to go with an alternative Red Ultra design for the Ultraphone Series. Also newly online is Rubber Boy and Bouncy in the 121st Century, the final story as far as I'm concerned. You can also take a look at The Encyclopedia Ultraphonica if you want.

Two Robots is online at juked.

June 27 Update: I've completed two new stories in the Ultraphone Series and uploaded the first, called The Hyperheads. More to follow.

May 24 Update: Since the last update, I've deleted the American Spaceboy project at The New Absurdist due to an appalling lack of interest on the part of readers there. But the good news is that an excerpt from this half-assed micro novel has been picked up by elimae and can be read here.

My hypertext The Chi Flow Shoes is supposedly being published at BathHouse. I say supposedly because their new issue is extremely late, so late that I wonder whether or not it will ever be published at all. Still, the possibility exists that it will, so you may want to check the link from time to time. I have become bored with checking the link myself. I no longer want to check the link.

Lastly, a new micro fiction novella thingie by Ellen Kennedy and Tao Lin have been published over at Bear Parade. Again. It's called Hikikomori. I love Ellen Kennedy and I love Bear Parade, so trust my judgment: if you love micro fiction and sharp minimalist writing you will want to read this.

February 14 Update: Uploaded a demo which Opera seems to have a problem with. View the demo. Also updated the CSS Bullet and Goodnight, Moon demos.

January 25 Update: Site was down for a while, since my host was moving to new servers. Everything should be back in place now. You may follow my new Micro Novel American Spaceboy at The New Absurdist. New chapters are forthcoming. Two new experimental CSS pages have been uploaded. They are beta, and new versions will be put online soon. They are CSS Bullet and Goodnight, Moon. Just some simple unicode stuff...

October 27 Update: PDF downloads of The Evil Lesbians and The Space Cows series are now available to you, the happy reader of high quality short fiction. The Evil Lesbians consists of 3 stories: The Evil Lesbians, Daughter of Lesbos, and Chad of the Lesbians. The Space Cows contains all 6 Space Cow stories. If you like cows, and you like space, then this one is for you.

August 30 Update: A micro fiction called Super Relax was published in Issue 65 of Zygote. It is one of the stories in the as yet unpublished chapbook "Saviors".

June 20 Update: A micro fiction called Yellow Dog published at elimae. This is a literary e-zine that publishes some high quality micro fiction. A sequel to THE ULTRAPHONE has been written, with many misgivings. It's called Psychic Girls vs. Manta Rays. Oh Boy.

June 12 Update: Two new CSS demos have been uploaded. Circuits and a basic shadow demo. Nothing earth-shattering.

June 7 Update: A second version of the Ultraphone has been uploaded. Same text but new formatting, with images.

June 5 Update: Hello there. A newly written Flash Fiction story called THE ULTRAPHONE has been posted on the site. A flash version of The Vampire Robots has been created by someone at Modern Fuel and you can find it at the YouTube site. In addition, an story from 2003 called Tranquil Girl has been uploaded with no changes to the text from the 2003 version.

March 28 Update: Some new content, mostly revised and redesigned web versions of older stories like A Madonna Suddenly and Gun Girl. Visit the micro fiction page to see the list of 2006 additions.

March 16 Update: I've decided to shunt all update notices to a separate page from now on. Seems only logical. A PDF file containing a collection of my stories published over at The New Absurdist is now available for download. It was created with the new oBook technology and contains a total of 10 stories. Several of them are duplicated on this site but there are three new ones including the awesome Atomic Jayne Mansfield.

The chapbook Saviors of the Electric Swastika is nearing completion and you can view a beta version of the proposed cover here. The book is a collection of short stories revolving around the war in Iraq and is due to be released in the FUTURE!

January 31 Update: My brutally short micro The Metrosexual has been published over at Zygote.

December 7 Update: An old story of mine called Totalitarian Dance Party was recently published at Girls with Insurance.

November 21 Update: I've designed a Hypertext for the latest issue of rumble. It's called End Fraction. Just uploaded is an experimental CSS styled Micro Fiction called Microdot II. It is adapted from a page at Stu Nicholl's CSS Playground. My blog has gone through a bit of a redesign as well and you can view it here. Bye bye now.

October 31 Update: I've added a page on the Lucida Fax font, and a story, The Giant Brain. A draft of the story had been around for a while so I revised it and designed a new template to showcase it in. [BOO].

October 24 Update: Redesigned In Your Monkey Suit and added a version for Internet Explorer utilizing Eric Meyers' Pure CSS Popups method.

October 22 Update: I've uploaded a couple of experimental pages for you to look at. The first one requires you to have a modern CSS-compliant Browser [ NOT Internet Explorer ] in order to be viewed optimally, the second requires the Firefox Browser. The first page is In Your Monkey Suit. If you have a modern browser just hover over the text, if you have Internet Explorer, you're screwed. I'll upload an IE version soon. The second demo is Mozilla Flavored Popups and it's a demo of fat rounded links and popup boxes. Internet Explorer will not show the rounded effect. I've also uploaded the reformatted Kill Television series with the Nifty Corners styling. Enjoy!
